Four or five years ago I was out of shape and unhappy, so I started going to the gym and working out with a personal trainer. The more I worked out the more I liked it and the more I wanted to learn and grow. I have since become a certified personal trainer and now I get to help other people learn to love fitness the way that I do.
I have been a swimmer for as long as I can remember, I dabbled in a lot of other sports and activities, but that was really the only one that stuck. I never thought that I would get into this crazy sport of triathlon, and after my first race I thought I would never do it again. In 1998 my sister dared me to do a sprint distance triathlon, I did zero training, and when it was over I thought “well that was not fun, and I am never doing it again”. Obviously I was wrong. Since then I have have competed in about 15 triathlons, and I love it!
I like to work with people who are new to the sport and say to me “there is no way I would ever be able to do something like that”. I like to show people that exercise can be fun, and fulfilling even if you never compete in a single race.
I am new to coaching triathlon, but not new to coaching in other fitness areas. Whatever your triathlon goal is, I want to help you get there.
